've always been a fan of soft-hackle patterns and with the efficacy of some of the Euro style nymphs we've been throwing in the past few years, I've been messing around with a few soft hackle heavier nymph patterns. The Perdi-bomb is a combo of the popular perdigon style Euro nymph and a traditional soft hackle pattern. This past winter and spring, this fly was responsible for some great days on the water. It's heavy enough to really get down quickly and you can impart movement to the soft hackle by some simple jigging motion up and down during or after the drift. I've done with in faster water as well as slower pools. See the video with Lance fishing his Jig streamer for an example of one way to fish this pattern. Either way, it's a fun pattern to tie and musters up its fair share of fish!
