The Teton River is rounding into fishing shape. Some big stoneflies are in the canyon. The river above is still in the wet fly fishing stage, but quickly changing.

McCoy, Palisades, Bear Creeks on the South Fork-Palisades part of the region are in great fishing shape. Growing terrestrial insect populations make patterns for them great choices, and each features afternoon caddis activity.

Consider visiting the Blackfoot River in its wildlife management area above the reservoir. Its a classic meadow stream that requires some skill for success. It has only some mayflies (PMDs and sparse evening brown drakes) but abundant caddis and a growing terrestrial insect population.Yellowstone cutthroat ranging to trophy size and a few brook trout are hosted.
