The Two Toner Chironomid fly pattern is a great stillwater fly pattern that incorporates the ability to imitate a lot of different colors of a chironomid. One of the most versatile stillwater patterns, the chironomid goes through several phases as it morphs from a larva into a full-fledged adult. Part of these phases can be imitated with similar patterns with somewhat minor color changes. See how we handle the two tones and color differences here.
