TOP 10 BAETIS or BWO FLY PATTERNS
If you want to get ready for the spring or even fall blue winged olive or Baetis mayfly hatch, we've put together 10 of our favorite patterns. While there are lots of great patterns out there, this is a great starter list, especially if you like to try some of our custom-designed patterns. Also, for clarity, the Blue Winged Olive (BWO) and Baetis are just different names for the same genus of grayish to olive aquatic insects (Baetidae) that run the range of #16 down to #22. These are mayflies that hatch in the spring and fall in most places and make for some of the best dry fly fishing you'll see in some locations.
